Smart Smile Makeover – No Drill Just BIL

Smart Smile Makeover from Brighter Image Lab

No Drill – Just BIL

Not wanting your teeth to be drilled isn’t unreasonable, it’s smart. Kimby wanted a smart smile makeover, so she contacted Brighter Image Lab. This is her story.

When you smile, you teach people to smile around you. Or, when you don’t, it teaches them to be more concerned around you.

It’s contagious.

I’ve seen that with even parents who can’t smile who is in your pictures where you take a serious look. It tends to make people draw from that look. Even though it works for you…

It’s not as approachable.

Right, and so, if you had…If you can go back and take a quarter of those chances back, or fifty of those chances…

I would do it in a heartbeat.

Right. There you go, “Hey, let me show you what I really want to do,” you know, “but I don’t want to be…”

This is who I really am I really am, a smiley person and happy and bubbly. This is who I am.

How’d you hear about us?

I was on Instagram, and there was this social media, you know, person that I loved her teeth. And she was just really real about, you know how she approached getting, you know, a better smile. I looked at her YouTube, and on her YouTube videos she had she was one of your clients.

I was so intrigued I had to, you know, I was brought to…

Mm-hmm.

Your web page and I was just like it was almost like automatically I felt like my perspective
had changed upon, you know, getting a sense of doing veneers. I’m just so impressed that there she avoided doing the drilling and the step-by-step process that it would take that’s so invasive that to me I like…It…The cost is high.

Yes, that’s incredibly deceptive.

Oh my god…

What happens is is they show the before, they show the after, but they never show the
ride home. And the difference is when they show before and after it’s a deceptive position. Like before and after it’s like these are your teeth and now these are your teeth, drilled down.

And so there’s really not an after past that because the third picture is here your here’s your teeth when you apply a veneer. Here’s how we hide your teeth, but the before and after should be real teeth, cone teeth.

My entire life I have…Growing up I had, you know, pretty baby teeth. My dentist always said that and it stuck with me because when my teeth came in the way that they did I was not as pleased.

You just want them different.

Yeah, exactly. Exactly!

And so, it’s like…And that’s one of the theories that we get into is that nobody should drill healthy teeth.

Yeah, that’s terrifying to me. It really, really is.

Here’s what’s happened. What they do is they drill a tooth to grind it down, but it the grinding comes from the drill, and so we just say stay away from the drill. We all the time see people who send us their cases, and want to know if they can get their veneers removed. Because they want to go back to what they had and you can’t. It’s like, “You can’t. Are you crazy?”

Yeah.

When you said that you didn’t want to drill, then that got my attention. Like for instance I don’t know if you know, but I think you told me you were in Invisalign? Jumped out of them?

Yeah.

The reason being is cause..?

Oh my god, it was the biggest mistake ever. It was not productive.

What what I tell people is is that they’re, you know, you have to know what to expect if your teeth didn’t come in fully. They don’t continue to come in fully. Straightening them don’t make them nicer, it just makes them more obvious. And sometimes, if they’re not shaped right, they have to be straighter teeth, and that makes it more obvious. “Oh, I really need cosmetic…”

And so most people go straight from braces straight into cosmetic…

Which is crazy.

They could have bypassed it, and so especially for little things if you’d done it ten years ago, or even five years ago. The choices we make today for those same veneers are so different in color and shade and translucency and a bunch of things.

So why commit yourself to something that’s going to potentially..?

it’s backdating. The technology has changed. Why continue to service that?

I want to show you something on your smile.

Okay. Let’s see.

You have almost no changes. The shape of this one and this one’s underdeveloped. This is probably one of those cases that are strictly cosmetic like, and…But if you could make those changes on a case like this, you can do any case. And so…

I can’t believe this is really happening. Those are my impressions? Those are my teeth? Those are gonna go in my mouth?

The reason i said they work, this is supposed to be your mouth. They fit on, and so that’s where we take it from. So the best thing to do is try it. Ok? Boom!

Ah! This is crazy! I have to take a deep breath. I…

It’s gonna feel weird.

No. I can’t even describe…Since I have…Like this is a big moment for me, because since I have been like a little girl on, I have always had such…Since I was six years old and my front teeth came in, and this tooth has always been such an insecurity of mine.

I never smile with my teeth and it’s you know maybe it’s all a mental thing but I just, like I can’t believe this moment is really here!

OK.

Is it on?

They look amazing.

What do you see?

I’m going to let you see.

I’m ready.

Oh…

You gotta let the camera see.

This is unreal!

You look amazing.

I can’t…

Look how shiny they are, they look so perfect and shiny.

I can’t.

I noticed in your Instagram your lip to lip on almost everything.

Everything, and my family always gives me such a hard time and it’s always been an insecurity thing.

You’re not having a problem smiling?

No.

Or, I mean…

I’m never going to do the duck face again!

We’re talking…I just learned that that was a real face. I thought it duck meant hide.

Oh my god!

They look perfect.

I can’t believe it.

Do you mind changing to the other ones? I always tell people wait three or four days before you get used to the bottom, but some people get adjusted the first and they wear the second one. It all depends on how good it looks. Should look surreal, but it’s gonna feel big, and it’s gonna feel bright, so let’s look at it.

Ok let’s do it!

This is yours. Look how white it is.

Oh my god. I know. Oh my gosh.

Just push them down.

Like this?

They should be tight.

Ok. Oh my god, I can’t believe this! No!

That’s a lot to get used to. How does it feel? It’s crazy to me.

Feels great. I can’t believe this.

You know, a large percentage of the people that come to me and never came to me to look good. They never one time asked to look better. I met a young lady in Ohio called me and said
that I need I mean a really great smile.

Was this Brittney?

Yeah.

I watched it!

And she’s like, “You can do this!” And she was in the dentist for four years and he couldn’t fix her smile, and so that’s when we really got on: “Let’s make these more perfect.”

So with that, I’m getting to see the work for the first time. I don’t get to see it up this close.

I am so happy!

I have to tell you something else.

Tell me!

People are gonna ask, we don’t know each other.

No!

And we never met before today, right?

No, no, no, no, no.

Like we instagrammed one time.

Yeah, I reached out to you. I didn’t know I was reaching out to you. I didn’t know who I was reaching out to, because…

I think was like a Saturday or Sunday morning.

It was a Sunday morning.

You didn’t try these on before today?

No.

Ok, and so with that…

Oh my god!!! Like, I, this is unreal.

Another thing I liked about your graduating from college. These smart girls that they do their work, they don’t drill. You obviously know enough people to know any cosmetic dentist in Florida. If you wanted to make that choice you could’ve easily made it, and it wasn’t an accident that you put that in our first message.

Like, I’m not drilling, so help me. And I’m thinking how does she know to say that like I’m always concerned that somebody in my office might have heard me say that, so they go “I’ll just tell them this,” but we were looking at trying to start a campaign that says don’t drill, and I knew you were doing your investigation.

And I knew that you could make other choices, and I know there’s a time to where you don’t want to be making mistakes. You got too many people coming in, but I will tell you I have been here for the last 15 minutes or so and I don’t see anything about you that’s going to have anything but positive on you making an impression.

Or you didn’t no longer have the negative. I don’t think you’re ever going to worry about that one tooth being too small. It looks perfect now.

They’re perfect.

Let me see. They’re perfect, perfect. Like the tips match exactly bite for bite.

I’m so excited.

It’s still way hard for you believe, I can feel the energy of shock.

I can’t believe this is real. I love them so much!

This is insane crazy.

They’re so perfect.

Your parents are gonna see you for graduation. Your mom’s gonna see you for Mother’s Day, and you’re gonna walk your stage, you’re gonna have your friends…

Oh my god!

And there are going to be one more, “I have to…Oh, these are my…These people will judge me…”

Smiling the entire way down.

We did pretty good.

I have to see again. Oh my gosh.

We did good.

You did good.

We did good.

I know Kariann always had the best teeth. She’s my twin, I got robbed. Hey, can you believe it?

They look so good!

You’re the first one I’m showing.

Oh! How do they feel?

Amazing.

Oh my gosh.

Aren’t they amazing, KK?

You’re so happy, you’re smiling!

I know I’m so happy!

You’re smiling, that’s awesome.

I know!

Smile Makeover Story from a Make Up Artist

Smile Makeover Story from a Make-Up Artist

Watch this smile makeover story from a make-up artist we have used in several New Life Smile makeovers. Bridgette has helped dozens of people smile again by providing the make-up for their smile makeover story.

I think they have big future for making people over, absolutely. I mean if if we had known there was something like that, you can make someone’s hair look fantastic, and their makeup, and you know even with terrible skin.

I mean I have access to whatever I need to do that for someone, and they can look at themselves just like I would look at myself and feel like, “Man, my makeup looks awesome today.” Or, “My hair is great,” and then I smile and I’m like, “Oh, that shuts it down.”

Hey guys. Today, I want to thank you for being with me. The reason why I think this is a pretty special interview is because for the first time I got the opportunity to share a new perspective.

I worked with Bridgette in the past. She’s worked both sides of it. She’s actually seen the people change and she’s seen the effect, and she’s seen firsthand what they look and feel like. And then just recently we were able to actually get her in a pair.

So, as a viewer it gives you a unique view of what it is that we actually do from somebody else besides us.

Tell me, how’d you get into makeup?

I got into it because I’ve always had a love for it, and I always wanted to be an artist in some way growing up. But I was encouraged to, but kind of like, “Well you can’t really make a living that way.” And I saw being a stylist and a makeup artist as a way to be creative, but still have a career.

The reason why we we’re talking about you’re doing some what ifs like if we were to work with salon owners everywhere to who would we pick to work with? And I was saying one of the reasons why I’d like to work with people like Bridgette is because she has an eye for like a graphic eye, you know?

We have an artistic eye of looking at something and a way to convey that to the client. Because sometimes they just need to be convinced of what’s really there. They’re used to seeing their imperfections, and they need to know – you’re blinded by your own self-consciousness right now.

Yeah.

And we can kind of lift the veil on that, I think. Like, will a lady sit there and look at another lady and go, “Your teeth are jacked?”

Yeah.

Cuz here’s what I’m saying. The reason why I thought so is because they’re in the only place that they could talk about it. They can talk to a dentist, they can talk to their priest, their best friend, or their stylist.

You could have done all the make-up in the world for Stacey, the first girl that we did, and she is still left like this. Well, I don’t care how pretty you are, you can’t, you’re not dressed if what you have is broken.

The last one that needed braces, it was $8500 for braces, and they wanted another two thousand dollars to make it tooth thin. To cut that bottom of the tooth off. So she’s like, “I have to go through braces, and then when they come off one tooth is going to be longer. We were a wonderful choice for her instantly.

That was for you. I know initially, I was in shock that you didn’t even ask for one, because historically you’ve seen the people we put them on.

Like if I am doing someone’s makeup, I feel like I need to look halfway decent. Even if I had a really bad night, and I had to rush to work, and the kids were sick or whatever. They still need to look at me and feel confident that I’m capable of what they want.

I still feel like if I can put a smile on my face, then I’ll look nice and I’m, therefore, more professional. Because I’m there, and I’m confident, and I’m not hiding behind like being self-conscious. It just takes away a huge weight of being self conscious.

My parents spent a lot of money on my teeth when I was younger, and I did do what I thought I could to keep up, you know, taking care of them.

And then I got a big chip in my tooth and it kept getting bigger, and I got more self-conscious. And I wanted my smile to be brighter, and and I realized how much it affected me daily, even with my own kids. And a little change like that can make a huge difference.

I noticed in the picture that we took, you didn’t smile. And everybody’s smiled but you, and you got one of the prettiest smiles in the room, you just didn’t do it. So I think you’re making up for it.

I do too.

Why would you recommend them?

Because of how natural they are. How well-fitting, because it’s based off of my teeth, my mold. The quality, I mean the price point to get the same result as going to a dentist. It’s mind blowing, like how much money you would spend. Automatically, I thought, “Wow. That looks so good,” because I was used to what I saw.

I mean my teeth look so good, it’s almost unreal. So I needed feedback, and I needed honest feedback. And I got it.

Our Make-up Artist shares her Smile Makeover Story with her Son

I’m dying, who’d you call? Who does a stylist call?

My son, my son was the first that I and I didn’t tell him.

You got a boy? How big?

He’s 13, yeah.

And so he just sees Mom’s happy?

I’m gonna cry. Oh, I walked in, and I was like, “Hey .” Big cheesy grin, like, “Hey, you notice anything?” And I smiled really big, and he was like your teeth look so good. And I was like yeah I got my teeth fixed.

That’s all I said, and he was like you look really pretty, Mom.

That’s pretty cool.

Yeah I was like thanks buddy.

From a 13 year old kid, that’s pretty big.

Yeah.

But the big cheesy grin is really you. Like you would have grinned all these times of like for the last four years. I’m guessing they’re probably four thousand times you would have grinned that you just didn’t.

Yeah.

And that cost everybody in the room.

Yeah.

It cost your mom, your friends, people who know you. Once they see they broke the mold that  it’s the smiling season, then it’s the smilin’ season for them. Yours look so well, has anybody said that they seem them? Has anybody been able to see them?

I’ve noticed a few people that were like…They didn’t say or do you have anything, they just asked me, “Did I get my teeth, did I get my tooth fixed?”

Okay, people that probably know you?

Yeah, because I’m smiling.

What was the smile makeover story process like? The impressions?

It’s not that bad. You have big trays, it’s larger than what you would comfortably fit in your mouth. You just mash your teeth into the goo and hold it there, and don’t wiggle it around, and it just takes a few minutes. As long as you, you know, directly push them up, do it properly. It takes a few minutes, and you feel silly, you look kind of funny, but that’s it. It’s really simple.

You know if you get a good impression, we’re going to build that smile out as perfect as we can without it being incompatible with your mouth. But that’s always a big question. I always wondered what the stylist would say.

Everything is custom-made, so it’s going to fit you, because it is you.

I’ll tell you we didn’t do one thing different for you than we did for anyone else because I expected you to turn them down, like we didn’t detail…

Really?

Here’s what I thought, “I’m gonna take them by, she’s gonna look at them, and she’s gonna give me a professional opinion.” She’s gonna be like, “Oh they’re great, and I’m probably use them if I needed them, if I had a picture. I can see some people need them.” The same thing I would have told you.

And so I thought I’d get them back in 15 minutes. She’s gonna get them. So you don’t think it’s gonna be a problem for if they come up in a salon.

I think that to me, that makeover experience, the makeup that washes away and the hair color that needs to be retouched. That smile’s with you for the rest of your life and and you’re gonna retain that feeling of seeing yourself redone if you keep that smile to you.

If it’s a big point for those and it makes a considerable dramatic change for those people they’re gonna want the attention for making the change. They’ll go, “Who’s your dentist?”

Right.

They’ll go no, it’s my makeup artist. The lady that that’s my hair got these teeth for me. That’s a pretty profound smile makeover story, and then it’s not who did it. She did it for me. I know you’ve got a lot of work, so you know probably go, “Bil there’s 20 other people that I would have said their makeovers would be a lot better if I could just…”

And so just in this interview, the thing keeps coming up in my mind is if she seriously believes the things that she’s saying which I think you do then it’s gonna stick with other people. And they’re gonna go give my people the chance because I think you look at them as your clients.

All right, like this is my person. Like I until I’m gone, you’re mine.

It’s it’s my creation in a way, and I feel like if there’s something more I could have done to help make them feel more beautiful then it’s missing.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the fact that it takes a lot. One is you have to have an interest and two – you got to be brave enough to go, “Yeah, I got these.” And then to be able to say, “Listen, I felt confident enough about it.”

That this is something I could have kept in it, benefited from, and just moved on. But instead I think it needs to be out there.

Yeah.

And being conservative as we are, we don’t want people to feel sold. And I think from an artist point of view, everything about you comes across about them. I think they’ll appreciate that a lot, and I hope you feel appreciated for being as helping me do this.

I do.

Cool, so thank you very much.

Guys, we appreciate it.

That’s a wrap! We’re done.
